ThinkSafe Managing Director Andrew Burns, talks Safetree Connect for Success Conference...
It’s been a week or so since ThinkSafe attended the Safetree Connect for Success Conference, supporting our forestry sector and the wellbeing of foresters.
Connect for Success was put on by the Forestry Industry Contractors Association, Forestry Industry Safety Council and Safetree NZ. It was based on the fact that more than just best safety practices, successful workplaces are also influenced by the health and wellbeing of workers, the work environment and how well external pressures to achieve productivity are managed.
The conference was a good fit for ThinkSafe because of our experience successfully managing high-risk tree felling operations, deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea for the past decade.
It was awesome to have this ‘good fit’ echoed back to us by attendees already using our systems - including some of the largest logging, silviculture and transport contractors in NZ - who told us our APPs were by far the best on the market and the most user friendly.
Safetree’s Toroawhi Scheme is also using ThinkSafe APPs for data collection, so we were excited to attend and support more of the wider NZ forestry industry with our knowledge and technology.
Because ThinkSafe’s origins are in PNG forestry operations, our systems and offline-capable APPs have been field tested in some of the most rugged and remote environments on the planet. We offer our partners a great user experience and the ability to convert and digitise existing H&S processes onto the ThinkSafe platform. Our forestry membership includes quarterly reports and our tailored Forestry Health and Safety Management System, which includes plans, policies and pre-populated risk assessments – all aligned to Safetree certification.

In other words, we’re passionate about getting workers home safe and we offer the best, most cost-effective forestry H&S system to do just that.
Thanks for having us Safetree, till next time.
