Andrew has worked as a Health and Safety specialist for large scale oil and gas exploration projects, in some of the most remote and hostile regions of Papua New Guinea since 2011. He is a highly effective Health and Safety Manager, skilled in running all aspects of Health and Safety from developing safety management systems and project plans, to preparing tender documents and prequalification capability assessments, as well as monitoring the actual implementation in the field.

As the gold standard for modern day Health and Safety, our origins are definitely unusual.
By 2016, ThinkSafe Founder Andrew Burns had spent the past five years working as a Health and Safety Manager within Papua New Guinea’s oil and gas industry. His role entailed keeping 800 staff safe in one of the most remote and dangerous environments in the world.
Andrew was standing on a helipad deep in the jungle of Papua New Guinea (PNG), when the idea for an all inclusive, cost-effective Health and Safety service came to him – so ThinkSafe was born.
Fast forward to 2020 and ThinkSafe now works tailoring Health and Safety systems throughout New Zealand. Outside of NZ, the business has grown to span 90 industries, with small and large enterprises throughout PNG, Australia, South Georgia, Samoa, Tuvalu, Marshall Islands, Niue, Tonga and Canada, now choosing ThinkSafe as their Health and Safety partner.
